Eastern files report that the French mail Polyneoien collided with and sunk the Dutch liner Djambi in Singapore harbour on January 13th. Eight of theDjambi’s crew were drowned. The Obelisk Hill reservoir at Newcastle was damaged during the late colliery creeps, and' has collapsed. A huge volume cf water flooded down and tore up the adjoining streets, otherwise the damage was slight.
