LEO, JAN AND MISCHEL CHERNAVSKI.

The three Russian instrumentalists, whose remarkable performances on the violin, piano and ’cello have caused a fnrore of excitement in Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, are to visit Marton on Friday, February stb, for one recital only, in the Town Hall. The Christchurch Press, of -December 18th, says:— ‘ ‘ The advent oa Thursday night of the trio of marvellously clever young Russian instrumentalists, whom Mr Branscombe has brought to ns, marked a most notable era in musical events in Christchurch. Indeed, it is not too much to say that it was, without exception the finest interpretation of instrumental mnsio we have had. It was not only that the effect of th? combination of the trio of artists was marvellous in its warmth of colour and wealth of temperament, but each—so far as his particular instrument was concerned—achieved a brilliant and complete artistic success. There was a virility and power displayed in the interpretation of the various numbers which, when the three players were in combination, [nearly resembled the volume and tone of a moderate sized orchestra.” The plan of reserved seats is now open at J. Mogridge & Sons, stationers, where seats may now be reserved.
