STOCK REPORT
Messrs Dalgety & Co., Ltd., report -At Wang an ui on 27th inst., we yarded 2600 sheep and 300 cattle. There was a good attendance hot the sale dragged and except for good wethers prices were inclined to be easier all round, however* sold the bulk of the entry only two pens of sheep>ad 3jpens of sheep cattle being turned out unsold. We quote : Forward 4 tooth, wethers 11s lid, 2 tooth wethers JOs d, 2 tpoth ewes 11a 6d to 12s, 2 tooth to f.m. ewes 10s 2d, coll mixed 2 tooth 6s 3d, f.m. ewes 5s 3d to 6s 3d, cull lambs 3s 5d to,4s, shorn rape lam |2 tooth to sl4 year steers £2 15s to £3, 18 months steers £2 3a, yearling steers 20s yearling ’’"steers 265, U 8 months heifers 28a 6d‘ to 355, store heifers 425, forward empty cows £3 Is, cows and calves 41s to 50s. At our Pending sale on Friday the 29th inst., we had a very good yarding of sheep and a fair entry of cattle. The sheep offered were as a whole much inferior in quality to those yarded the previousweek, and in consequence the sale was very irregular. We quote: Cull lambs to 4s, medium lambs 6s 6d to 7s 6d, rape lambs 8s 3d to 8s 9d, 2 tooth wethers small 10s, medium 2 tooth wethers 10s Bd, sound month ewes 9s to 11s, 2 tooth ewes small 12s. A partcularly nice line of early shorn fat and forward wethers from Pobangina realised 12s 4d. Cattle, mixed yearlings 80s, 18 mouths steers £2 15s, 2 to year steers £4, empty cows to £2 10s, bulls to £3 12s 6d, dairy cows to £4. Messrs Gorton & Sou reportAt Feildiug on Friday, we had a heavy yarding of sheep and a medium one of cattle. The demand for all classes of sheep, particularly good rape lambs, was good. The cattle were sold in a downpour of rain and consequently business was not brisk. We quote: Fat lambs. 12s to 12s 6d, good rape lambs 8s 9d to 10s 2d, small lambs 5s lOd to 6s 5d,, onll lambs 8s Id. small 2 tooth wethers 9s 5d to 10s 4d, woolly ewes 10s 6d, shorn ewes 7s 6d, f.m. Southdown rams 15s, £1 Is and %% guineas, old rams ss, light fat cows £3 10s to £3 12s, forward cows £2 10s, £2 12s 6d to £2 19s, bulls £3 to £4, small weaners 8s 6d. . Messrs Abraham & Williams, Ltd., report:—We had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle at Feilding. Prices for rape lambs and wethers were good. We quote : Rape lambs 8s 9d, 9s 6d, f.m. ewes 9s 6d, 10s, to 10s 6d, 2 tooth wethers small 10s 3d to 10s 6d, 2 tooth wethers good 11s 6d to 12s, small lambs 6s 2d to 6s 4d. mixed 2 tooth Us 6d to 11s 9d, fat cows £4 5s to £4 15s, bulls £3 10s to £4, 3 vear heifers £2 2s 6d to £2 7s 6d, 2% to 3 year steers £4 to £4 7s 3d. _ Messrs A. H. Atkinson & 00., Ltd., report large entries and good market in all departments, some 100 pigs were sold at better values than previously ruling. A large quantity of peaches, plums and cherries in'excellent condition were marketed and sold well. Quotations: Draught horse, £23 10s; pigs, sncbers 8s; weaners, 7s 6d, 8s 6d and up to 9s ,3d ;‘silps, 10s, 10s 6d tojlls; stores, 133° 15s 3d, 18s 6d to 23s 9d ; medium weight porkers, 24s 26s to 295; poultry, hens,ls 6d to 2s Id; small roosters Is to Is 6d, and from 2s 3d to 2 s 9d for hotter sorts, all at each ; ducks, 2s to 2s 6d ; geese, as; turkey gobbler, 13s 6d. Produce, bnrbank and other plums, 3s 4d to 4s per case of 201bs; peaches, 5s to 5s 6d per case (60 cases sold); table potatoes, 901 b, bag, ss; sack 9s; oats, 2s 4d per Bushel. A large quantity of furniture was disposed of.
