RANGIWAHIA.

From Our Own Correspondent. We have had a large number of visitors here for quite a month, and all seemed to enjoy themselves, picnics, social evenings and a climb to the top of the Ruahine Range being indulged in. Amongst those who ascended the mountain were the - three Misses MacKinnon, in fact the whole party were Macks ! The genial “Jack” McKean being guide. A most magnificent view 'was obtained, and . many beautiful shrubs gathered to be transplanted into onr fertile valley. Great regret is felt by the whole the community owing to the departure of Mr and Mrs Koache. At the social tendered to them on the 37th inst , one of the largest gatherings ever held here, Mr D. H. Guthrie, M.P., was present and in a eulogistic speech, tendered to Mr and Mrs Roaohe a handsome handbag containing sovereigns. Mr Walter also addressed the audience, speaking of the many good qualities and efficiency of our late Dominie.” Mr Roache in a neat speech responded, after which the scholars sang that beautiful farewell song “God be with you till we meet again. ”
