The Labour Council has notfinished the discussion on the resolution modifying the previously ad oped general strike motion. The new resolution proposes that nb' union shall order its members to< cease work or take any action calculated to involve affiliated unions in industrial trouble without first affording the Council an opportunity of investigating matters with a view to securing a peaceful settlement where practicable. It was explained that the intention was to prevent unions prematurely commencing a strike before consulting the Council, and then coming to the Council for financial assistance. The Council has despatchedhtwo delegates to ‘Broken Hill to investigate the trouble with a view to futureaction,.
