At special meetings of the Rangitikei County Council held on Monday, the 28th December, 1908, resolutions were passed making and levying Special Rates in respect of loans authorised to be raised under “ The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1908,” as follows: 1* A special rate of one-fifth of a penny (l-6th d) in the £ sterling upon all rateable properties of the Kawhatau Bridge Special Rating District to provide the interest, etc , upon a Special Loan of £6OO for part cost of construction of a bridge over the Kawhatau River on the Potaka Road. 2. A Special Rate of one-sixth of a penny (l-6th d) in the £ sterling upon all rateable properties of the Brandon Hall No, 2 Special Rating District to provide the interest, etc., upon a Special Loan of £6BO for further metalling on the Brandon Hall Road. The above Special Loans are for periods of 41 years and the interest to be paid at the rate of per cent per annum. Copies of the above Special Orders are open to public inspection at the office of the Council-, High Street, Marton, during office hours, and Special Meetings of the Council will be held at Marton at 8 p.m. on Saturday, the 30ch January, 1909, to confirm the said resolutions.
