Thornton Hains has been acquitted at Long Island of being an accessory to Oapt. Hains, who shot William Annis in August last. Oapt. Hains’awaits his trial.
[Oapt. Hains, who was accompanied by his brother, shot Annis, a publisher as he landed from a steamer on Long Island. He alleged that Annis had been too friendly with his wife. All the parties are well known in New York society.]
