ALLEGED MISLEADING INFORMATION. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received January 18, 10 a.m. January 18. Dissension among the members of the French Society Alliance Francaise™led~to the recall of M. Maistre, Consul, by the French Foreign Office, in consequence of representations made through jthe British Ambassador in Paris. It is said that both Australian authorities and the British Ambassador were misled into conveying to the French Foreign Office representations which culminated in M. Maistre’s recall.
