LOWER HUTT LICENSING INQUIRY.

Press Association. Wellington, January 16. The inquiry into the Hutt‘local option poll was continued to-day when the petitioners concluded their case with the exception of to witnesses to be oaalled on Monday. , In opening the case for the defence Mr Skerrett contended that the NoLicense Party required five more votes to alter the result. Regarding other allegations in the petition, counsel submitted that -no evidence whatever had been adduced to show that the poll had been affected. At noon the inquiry was adjourned till Monday.
