THE MAMARI IMMIGRANTS.

Auckland, January 15.

During the voyage of the Mamari from London the two-year-old daughter of Mr and Mrs Wiilian, booked to Lyttelton, died of croup on December 23rd. Of 377 passengers 261 are assisted; 65 are children nnder 12. Of the total there are 36 farmers, 14 farm labourers, 38 domestic servants, 12 wives of former immigrants joining their husbands, 113 were nominated by relatives in New Zealand who guarantee to procure work. The capital brought out, excluding nominated passengers, totals £3135.
