This class of wool, with the brighter coarse wools, sold very well indeed, and prices were fully up to last sale’s rates. It was in the better olasss of wools that any change in price was apparent. Bright free wools did not realise within a halfpenny per lb. of prices raling at last sales. This was generally accounted for by the absence of American competition. Lambs wool was in fair demand, and all bright good-length wool brought good value. Our highest price for lambs was B>£d. Competition for the lower sorts of wools — bellies, pieces, etc —was keen, and prices were at a good level. We sold a big proportion of our catalogne under the hammer, and expect to quit further lines at passed-in prices. Some of our sales comprised the following brands r—Ringahnri, 5 bales A hoggets, hoggets, 8d ; 6 bales A ewes, 7%; 2 bales, 5%d; W over Ferulea, 43 bales of bright free crossbred at 8d ; 19 bales hoggets at 6j^d; 7 bales lambs, 6^d; HS over Ofcimai, 26 bales log-stained at Kara, 9 bales medium crossbred, 7%d ; 3 bales lambs, O, bahis medium crossbred, 7(1; 8 under rye brow, 6 bales, Southdown, - over ' W 43 bales coarse erossbrnd, 6%d.
