FEILDING ATHLETIC CLUB.

A meeting of the committee was held last night, Mr Askew in the chair.

A letter was received from \Master McGregor, the winner in the pony race for boys under 16, demanding the prize-money or he would put the matter in the hands of his solicitor, though acknowledging |be was fotfr months over the age. The disqualification of the\oompetitor by the secretary was endorsed.

The Treasurer stated that the receipts, with : ;the £l2 credit balance from last year, amounted to £313 11s sd, and the expenditure with.the accounts rendered amounted to about £lO over that sum, thus showing a deficiency on the sports. The receipts showed a falling-off in nominations and the receipts at the concert. The general opinion of the members of the committee was that it would be advisable to again have Highland events. A hearty vote of thanks was granted to Mr W. J. Jones for his excellent management of the refreshment booth.

The championship of the Athletic Union having been allotted to Feilding will help to popularise the next meeting.
