United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. London, January 9. The proprietor of a small restaurant at New Cross was fined 20s and costs for selling Australian wine as Burgundy. The wholesale firm who supplied him admitted that the bottles were labelled ißurgundy in error. Mr Benjamin Morgan, English T;rade Commissioner, in his report, states that the Australasian trade is flourishing, and that the industrial future is full of promise. Messrs J. Lyons & Co., the wellknown caterers, deny having offered their Trafalgar Square house site to the Commonwealth Government for offices, and have no knowledge of the transaction. Sydney, January 9. The Richmond River Company’s sawmilll at South Lismore has been dstroyed by fire. The damage is .? estimated at £15,000. Received January 11, 10.3 a.m. Melbourne, January 11. En route from Greymouth, the steamer En nerd ale struck a sunken obstruction in Bass Straits, on Wednesday night, ana received damage causing a slight leak. Thejextent of the damage will he unknown till the vessel is docked.
Sydney, January 11. The young man Williams has been committed for trial on a charge of murdering Johnston, whose body was found in the Namoi river. Evidence showed that Williams sold the horses ana outfit with which he and the dead man previously travelled with. Received January 11, 8.30 a.m. Teheran, January 10. Sata Chan has ordered the confiscation of all the Shah’s property in the province of Arbaijau.
