From Our Own Correspondent. The annual meeting of the Horticultural Society was held on Wednesday evening In the Town Hall, and was well attended. Mr P. McConnell (president) presided. Both Report and balance-sheet were adopted. The total receipts, including balance brought forward, were £BB 3s. profit on last year’s show £l9 4s 4d, leaving a balance in hand of £37 10s. Following is a list of officers and committee elected Patron, Mr Guthrie; president, Mr P. McConnell; vice-presidents, Messrs F. S. Gay, J. Falconer, H. Osborne, Heldt and Clark; secretary, Dr. Gregory; treasurer, Mr H. Bennett; assistant secretaries, ; Messrs H. Bennett and F, Elliott; executive committee, Messrs Yaughan, Gibson, Matthews, Cowan, Lawson, J. Buckman and Decke. It was decided to hold the next show early in April.
