It is announced that the Japanese Foreign Office considers Yuanshihkai’s dismissal as likely to prove a disturbing factor in the Chinese situation. Officials at Washington believe the tension has somewhat relaxed since Liangtungyang was appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs. Pekin, January 7.
The British, American, and Japanese Ministers have warned the Regent against any administrative act which might be calculated to endanger internal peace.
