A conference of the parties opposed to the Labour party, after a long wrangle as to the appointment of a leader, eventually selected Mr Mur ray for the position. At the conclusion of the conference Sir Thomas Bent handed in his resignation to the Governor and recommended that Mr Murray ha summoned. The suggestion was accepted and Mr Murray will undertake the task of forming a Cabinet.

Perth, January 7. The Assembly adopted the JPremier’s Conference resolutions.
