STAGE AND PEERAGE.
Yet another romance connecting the stage and peerage was chronicled when the Hon. Maurice Nelson Hood, son of Viscount Bridport, was married at a West ‘End church to Miss Ethel Kendall, "professionally known Miss Eileen Orme. The bride is a cousin of Miss Denice Orme, the actress who made a success in “The Little Michus” at Daly’s Theatre, and who is now the the Hon. John Yarde-Buller. Mrs Nelson Hood has herself acted in “The Little Michus,” and more recently in “The Merry Widow,” but it is doubtful whether the stage will see her again. The wedding had heen'kept quite secret, and only a few theatrical friends of the bride were present. Attired in a white cloth walking costume of directoire design, with a large black “Merry Widow” hat, “Miss Orme,” a pretty girl only 18 years of age, made the responses in a clear voice.
The bridegroom, who is 10 years older than the bride, is a lieutenant in the Royal Naval Reserve. His best man was Lieutenant H. Fawcett, R.M.L.I. “Miss Louise Orme” was present with her husband, Captain Yarde-Buller, and signed the register as a witness in the name of Jessie Yarde-Buller. The Hon. Mr and Mrs Nelson Hood afterwards left the church in a motor-car, and drove to |the Oarlton Hotel, where the weddng luncheon was served. Lord Bridport, the~ bridegroom’s father, is the second 'viscount, and is 68 years of age. He inherits Nelson’s Sicilian title of Duke of Bronte.
