THE RECONSTRUCTED CABINET.

Wellington, January 6. Reconstruction of the Ministry was announced ibis afternoon.

Mr McGowan retires, being elevated to the Legislative Oounoil. Messrs R. McKenzie, Hogg, Buddo, T. MacKenzie and Ngata were added to the Executive.

The portfolios are distributed as follows:--

Sir Joseph Ward : Minister of Finance, Fohmaster General, Minister of Defence, Minister of Lands, Agriculture and Land for Settlements, Land and; Income Tax, Electoral Department and Advertising Department. Mr Carroll: Native Affairs, Minister of Stamps and Deeds, Minister in charge of Cook Islands and Advances to Settlers Department. Mr Millar: Minister for Railways, Minister for Marine, Minister in charge of Friendly Societies, and Inspection of Machinery Department. Mr Fowlds: Minister for Education, Immigration, Mental Hospitals, and Hospitals and Firo |lnsurance Department. Dr. Findlay: Attorney-General, Minister of Justice, and Minister in charge|fof Crown Law Department.

Mr R. McKenzie: Minister for Public Works and Mines.

Mr Hogg: Minister for Labour,. Customs, in charge of roads and bridges, and in charge of Government Printing Offices.

Mr Buddo: Minister for Internal A fife is, Minister for Public Health, in charge of the Valuation Department and Old Age Pensions. Mr T. McKenzie; Minister for Industries and Commerce without pay, and of Tourist, Scenery and Forestry Departmenst. Mr Ngata joins the Ministry as a member of the Executive, representing the Native race, and is given charge of the Public Trust Department, Government Insuance and Government Accident Insurance and Maori Councils.
