THE COLOUR SHE WANTED.
Overheard in a Regent street (London) emporium recently:—“Yes; something in blue taffeta silk, please. I don’t want anything as dark as navy bine or anything as light as Cambridge bine, but something darker than Eton blue and lighter than navy bine, and yet a little off from an electric bln© and hardly a sky blue —more like a ro-bln’s-egg bine and yet not quite so light, but not nearly so dark as an indigo blue, but something like this new tint, I think they call morn-ing-glory blue, which is something like a turquoise bine, and yet not quite so dark as this aqua-marine bine nor so light as.baby bine. Now, If you have anything in the shade I have described, please show it to me. And the versatile assistant unrolled a length—a cross between the blue devils and the deep blue sea—with the remark, “This is the latest shade of blue, madam. It is called ‘London milk’!”
