CHELTENHAM SPORTS.
Good weather prevailed for this popular meeting yesterday and con. sequently the attendance was a little larger thain at the last year’s. The sum of £46 ,1s 3d was taken at the gates. The sports were good throughout, the running and cycling events having been well contested, iudibathandicapping on the part of Mr Oollinawood As at previous sports here the horse jumping was excellent; the performances of Mr Hartley’s Vendetta, Mr J. McLean’s Slogger, and Mr Gibb’s Arnst.in the Open Hunters’, were very good indeed. The wrestling on horseback was the most popular event. The conduct of the sports under the officers and committee was all that could be desired. Results;—■

Hartley) 1, G. A. Taylor’s K. Jam (owner) 2. The weight of the sheep' was 174 lbs. Mr R. Christensen guessed the correct weight and his wife was within a half pound.
