From Our Own Correspondent. The Oddfellows held their halfvearly'annual meeting on Wednesday, when the following officers were initiatedG.M., Bro. <T. MoKeay; N.G., Bro. T. Hayr; y G., Bro. P. MoKay; E. S., Bro. h! Varley. P.G.M.. Bro. Hodge, who was visiting congratulated the lodge on its satisfactory financial condition. The new addition to the present building is nearly complete, and will afford ample room for the full complement of members. A very enjoyable entertainment was provided by the lady ibembers of the Debating Society onJTlmrsday last. The programme ‘ consisted, or pianoforte duat Mrs Matthews and Miss Misses Gill, Guy, Bydillioii,/eind [Ross. Miss Leslie attired M the picturesque Chinese costume with Miss Bydillion, her assistant, gave an instructive address ,6u the ways of the heathen Chinee. The collection of curios was much admired. ‘ The weather has been exceedingly ‘ cold lately, snow having fallen on the hills in the immediate vicinity of,the township.
