FOOTBALL.
THE BRITISH TEAM. Per Press Association. Nelson, June 19. The British ‘footballers, with the exception of half-a-dozen who came by steamer yesterday, arrived overland to-night. They have experienced fine weather throughout their two days’ coaching. A large crowd assembled to witness the official reception of the visitors, who were formally welcomed by the Mayor and Ur. Andrew, President of the Nelson Rugby Union. The weather during the past few days has been fine, and the ground is in good order, with every prospect of a fine day to-morrow and a big attendance. The British team has been .selected as follows:—Jacketfc, Gibbs, MoEvedy, Ponty. Jones, and ,J. L. Williams, three-quarters; W. Morgan, Jr.«*s, Guys, halves; Dibble, Jackson, Morgan, Down, Green, Ritsou, Archie, and J. E, Williarhs, forwards. ’
