Cardinal Logue has returned to Ireland. He declared that the interview cabled on the 14th was a pure invention. He never stated that Australia aud New Zealand were on the verge of rebellion. He admitted saying in a New York drawing-room that when Britain became’ old and infirm she was likely to receive the coup de grace from her Irish subjects, whom she was sending to foreign lauds with vengence in „the their hearts.
