The following officers were elected.: — President, Mr Goldsbury; vicepresidents, Mr E. G. Humphrey and Miss McMeikin ; committee, Messrs A. E. Pearce, J. Carr, Miss Shannon and Mr Corpe; secretary, Mr N. Shannon. Mr A. E. Pearce, the retiring president, occupied the chair. After election of officers some recitations were given by the following : Messrs R. Anderson, E. Shannon, A. E. Pearce and E. G. Humphrey. The subject of debate to take plac® next meeting will be “Which has the Most Influence; the Pulpit or the Press?” The debate should be interesting and instructive. A vote Of thanks to the chair closed the proceedings. I hear Mr G. O. Hare is about to leave Waituna and take up his residence at “Waverrree” in Cheltenham district. Mr Orr has leased Mr W. Benson’s farm, having let his place to Mr Laing. Good rent is being paid for land here as high as 25s per acre for dairying. Mr Orr is putting in machines this winter in readiness for the coming season. “ We have had one or two sharp frosts, otherwise the weather is remarkable good for this time of the year. Last year at this time we had mud everywhere, but there is hardly any to he seen yet.
