OLD AGE PENSOINS. United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Melbourne, June 4. The House has passed, the Old Age Pensions Bill. The clauses providing that for five years prior to receiving a pension the applicants must have led a temperate.and reputable life, and that terms of imprisonment for criminal offences bo deducted in counting the period of residence, were struck out.
Received June 5, 10.30 a.m. Melbourne, June 5. The ■ resolution voting threequarters of a million for Old Age Pensions was carried. The naval vote of a quarter of a million was passed on the voices. The Seamen’s Compensation Bill introduced in the House, provides for compensation for injuries received while serving under Commonwealth articles. Seamen whose average weekly earnings amount to £5 or members of a crew sharing in the profits are exempted from the operation of the Bill,
