CRICKET.
THE TRIANGULAR CONTEST
United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Sydney, June 4. \
There is considerable dissatisfaction in cricketing circles at the decision of the Board of Control not to participate in the triangular contest. Received June 5, 9.23 a.m. London, June 4. The Daily Graphic upholds Australia’s attitude as to the triangular matches as quite sound, and says that sneers about want of Imperial .-spirit are uncalled for. Australians see that the presence <of.two touring teams would be ruinous to the success of either, and we ought to thank them for the suggestion that the effect on county cricket .finance would be little short of disastrous. Sydney, June 5. The Board of Control notified Marylebone authorities that they were against the triangular proposal gong before the financial provisions were known. It is clear, therefore, that the decision was not influenced iby monetary reasons.
