OTAGO SHOW.

Press Association. Dunedin, Junojk The fourteenth winter show of Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Society opened to-day. In some respects the show surpasses all others held to date. There is a magnificent exhibit by the Agricultural Department, also a novel exhibition from Gatlins and Otago Central Districts. Entries in staple lines of produce are up to the average, except in regard to roots which show a decrease owing to the summer drought. The Agricultural Department’s exhibit includes roots, grasses, plants, etc., from various experimental farms, also honey, bottled fruits, hemp and a collection of fungus diseases and pests which attack fruit and vegetables. During the show the Department will conduct seed germinating tests. The exhibit which is in the charge of Mr T. W. Kirk, Government Biologist, aud assistants, should prove of very great educative value.
