MASONIC.

There was a great gathering of Masons in Palmerston to take part in the consecration of the new hall, which has been erected in Church street. The consecration ceremony took place yesterday afternoon, in the presence of a large and representative gathering of Masons from various parts of the Dominion. R. W. Grand Superintendent Bro. R. Fletcher performed the ceremony, assisted by R.W. Bro. J. Moncrieflf, jnr., R. W. W. H. Smith, P.G.J.W. G.S.W. and P. W. Bro. Porritt, G. Chaplain, and R. W. Bro. J. A. Nash, G.D.O. An orchestra was in attendance, uuer the conductorship of Bro. M. Cohen.

In the evening the Brethren were entertained at a banquet in the Municipal Hall by Manawatn Kilwinning. The customary Masonic toasts were honoured, and the proceedings were most enjoyable. During the evening the Provincial Grand Master, Bro. Fletcher, presented Wor. Bro. J. A. Nash with the Past Master’s jewel, on behalf of the members of the lodge, in recognition of his efforts, during his term of office as W.M., in aid of the movement to secure the new Masonic Temple,
