A THREATENED STRIKE.

Press Association. Auckland, May 20. A meeting of employees of the Auckland Electric Tramway Company passed a resolution that .‘in view of the Company having dismissed several men without allowing them to adduce evidence in selfdefence, the Union considers ftbat the time has arrived when the Company should bo made to stand by its agreements with Unionists. It was decided to insist upon the reinstalment of Conductor Herdson or that a satisfactory reason *ba given for his dismissal before noon tomorrow, failing which the men Twill take measures to enforce compliance with their demands. In the event of a strike the Union decided that no Unionist shall return to work with any black-leg labour that may have been engaged by the Company to run the cars.
