ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Press Association. Auckland, May 19. The horses attached to a heavily laden lorry bolted in Queen Street to-day and the driver (Alex Miller) fell under the wheel, and sustained very serious injuries. Nelson, May 19. The police have received ' word that a labourer named Thomas Jack, aged about 46, employed by Oronse and Saunders, Oollingwood district, came to Oollingwood Hotel, Oollingwood, yesterday morning for medical treatment, and died on arrival. Probably an inquest will be held as no doctor had time to attend. It is believed deceased had a sister teaching at a girls’ school in Wellington or Ohristohurch. ( Invercargill, May 19. The police have received word that a man, supposed to be Harry Parr, was found dead at Waiau. A horse and trap were standing beside the body. No particulars are to hand. Auckland, May 19. Alexander Miller, who was seriously injured in a runaway yesterday, died in the hospital. Ashburton, Ma 19. The police received advice from Lougbeach Station this morning that a single young man of about 25 years of age, named Walter Brewer, a ploughman on the estate, was found dead in the whare of which he was the sole occupant at an early hour this morning. It is understood the case is ;oue of suicide by shooting, but no further particulars are yet available.
