SHOOTING.

MANCHESTER RIFLES. The fifth and final competition, which was a compulsory counter, was fired for company belts on the local range on Saturday. For the first class belt Vol. May hew, who was five points ahead of Gapt. Barltrop, put up the good score of 84 and won the belt by li points. Gapt. Barltrop and Vol. Belk tied for second place, and in the shootoff, five shots at 600;yards,* Vol.Jßelk beat the Catpain by two points, the scores being: Vol. Belk 33, Capt. Barltrop 30. j For the first time for a very long period the wind was steady, but the light was very dull. Good scores were put up by Vols. Belk (85) and Maybe w (84)' May hew getting six bulls and an inner for his last shot at 300 yards. For the second cla«s belt Vol. J. Blnnden won by a good margin, Vol. Jones, the runner-up, being about IS points behind the winner. Scores;— FIRST CLASS. 7 shots at each range.
