THE FIRST SITTING
Press Association—Copyright. Received May 17, 4.14 p.m. London, May 16. The Court of Criminal Appeal held its first sitting yesterday. The Lord Chief Justice emphasised that the Court was not re-trying the* cases. Out of several applications for leave to appeal one was granted and a conviction was quashed in a case wherein the Judge at the trial had expressed dissatisfaction at the verdict.
