Passengers b\ steamers from China state that Japan is in a deplorable condition owing to the Chinese boycott, and that her financial position has been seriously injured. The banks are without gold, and Chinese refuse to accept paper money. The opinion is expressed that the ultimate result will be war between China and Japan.
