RANGITIKEI HUNT.

These hounds had their opening day at Upper Tutanenui on Saturday, May 2nd, when a very good day’s sport was enioyed over Mr Grey’s and Mr Newman’s property. Mrs Edward Newman entertained the members of the Hunt at afternoon tea. On the follwoing Saturday the meet was the well-known place “ Olydesdlae, ” Carnarvon , the home of Mr T. McKelvie. The day, however, was very wet. sheets of rain spoiling all idea of pleasure. On Wednesday, the 13th inst., the meet was at the sporting little village of Orofton, and the start in Mr Bushby’s paddocks to the right of the road. The ground was in good order and the fences splendid and there was a fairly 'good day's sport altogether. The weather in the afternoon was very hot indeed. After the hunt Mrs Riddiford dispensed afternoon tea to the members of the Hunt and other friends.
