Per Press Association. Auckland, May 11. Elliott was a steerage passenger from Sydney, by the Moaca. On the boat being berthed lie went to the station, gave himself up voluntarily. During a few minutes conversation Elliott stated thus he had uoaliihcaltj in getting away unobserved. “Most of my time I was in Melbourne';;’ ho .said, and from there had plenty of opportunffcies to go anywhere I Lke.d to get clear away. When I got there, however, I decided I would not go any further. The sunpeimo was awful for one thing, and I cot. kln’t stand it, so herd am. I gave myself up voluntarily to the police, if I ■had had any money when I reached Auckland I would have continued my journey to Wellington and given myself up there.”
