MR PRICE.
SPEECH AT BIRMINGHAM
Press Association. —Copyright. Received May 8.35 a.m. London, May V,
Mr Price, Premier of South Australia, addressing the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, strongly supported the enfranchisement of women although in Australia they had not adopted the tactics of the English Suffragettes. He condemned the British for purchasing Siberian butter, produced under the cruellest conditions, because it was a shilling a cwt-. cheaper than Australian, thus sacrificing all the lovely sentiment so much advocated. He strongly recommended Imperial reciprocity.
