THE FRONTIER WAR.

Press Asssociation—Copyright. Calcutta, May 6,

The troops mobilised on the northwest frontier of India comprise B 1 battalions of infantry, 15 squadrons of cavalry, and 64 guns. The result of Monday’s fight has discredited Sufi Sahib in his efforts to rouse the Afridis. He and his followers have'returned to Afghanistan. The fight showed that the Afghans were quite unable to face artillery.

Their final retreat was precipitate. A shell killed three Mullahs who were hiding in a ravine.

May 6. The continued silence by the Kabul authorities-regarding the frontier raids is viewed with grave suspicion hy Britain.
