Per F, ess Assocmtion. Palmerston N., Mav 4. At the S.M. Court, Donald Wells, a recent arrival from Home, was charged with threatening behavour on Saturday night. The police stated that in a row in Main Street, at midnight on Saturday, accused drew a loaded revolver and brandished it uncut iu a threatening manner. Counsel for accused said the latter had .lust arrived from England, and appeared to think that a loaded revolver was a necessary protection in Few Zealand.
The Bench pointed out the high state of civilisation to which the average Domiuiouite attained and said it that it was therefore quite unnecessary to carry a gun, and nuod accused 10s and costs.
Daniel McCurdy, charged with perjury while giving evidence at the enquiry into the origin of a lire that destroyed a stable used by him, was committed for trial at the Supreme Court.
