ILLEGAL SALE OF LIQUOR.

Per Press Association. Dunedin, May 1

Mrs Parker, licensee of the Grand Pacific Hotel (near Oceanbeach),, was to-day fined by Mr Widdowson, S.M., £5 and four guineas costs, for serving a flask of whisky and some beer on a Sunday. Mrs Parker had been warned by the Licensing Committee to obtain a fresh licensee, and counsel pleaded her health was so affected that she could not refuse to supply liquor. He also strongly urged the Bench not to endorse the license, as it would reduce the value of the property. The magistrate ordered the license to be endorsed.
