FROZEN MEAT. Per Press Association. Napier, April 30. The O. O. and D. 00. cable t'’o following quotations of frozen meat: —Canterbury mutton Wellington, aud North "island, 3%; lamb, first, sJ.<d, second 5%d ; beef, hinds, B%d, fores S%d. STOCK REPORT. Messs Abraham & Williams, Ltd , report on their Tail;ape sale held on 39th inst. Wo had a heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle, ail being disposed of except cue pen of lambs. Cattle did not meet with ready sale. We quote Sheep : S-tooth wethers 10s Gd,Kf. &f, 3-lh wethers 14s 6d, 2, 4 and (Tand f.f.m. wethers 10s 4d, fat ewes 12s 6d to 13s Gd, s.m. ewes in lamb 3s lid to os 9d, 4, 6 and f.f.m. ewes in lamb os 4d, 2-tooth ewes in lamb 9s 7d, empty ewes 3s to 4s, mixed lambs 3s lid to 5s Gd, cull lambs Is 2d. Cattle; Fat cows £8 15s, fat steers £5 Is Gd, empty cows £2, 2-year steers £2 7s Gd, heifers £3 10s. At our Hunteryllle sale on the 28th inst. there was a full yarding of both sheep aud cattle, but demand was not too keen. We quote Four-tooth wethers 14s 3d, fat wethers 14s 9cl, 2 and 4-tooth ewes in lamb 9s lOd to 10s Id to 13s, 2, 4 aud 6-tooth ewes in lamb 11s, f.f.m. ewes in lamb 7s, 3-tooth to f.m. ewes 4s 6d, 4-year ewes in lamb 7s Id, empty ewes 4s"4d to 7s, lambs, culls 2s to 3s. Cattle: Yearling steers small 20s, 18-months steers £2 Is to £3 6s 6d, mixed weaners good 295, small ss, yearling heifers 20s to 275, cows in calf £3 4s, forward cows £2 7s Gd.

GRAIN REPORT. Mr F, Pownall, |of the N.Z. and Canterbury Farmers’ Co-op. Associations, reports as follows, all quotations being f.o. b., truck or wharf Wellington, sacks free. Oats; Limited threshings tend to keep market firm, though farmers disinclination to unburden is untenable. No foreign market is available, and values must suffer later in consequence. B grade and Sparrowbills rule at 3s fid, Gartons 3s Duns 3s 7d, seeds 2s lOd. Wheat: Commonwealth reports are weak, congestion in Home quarters beating back. Dominion’s stocks are likely to be augmented by South Australian, best milling being held here for 4s Bd, fowl feed 4s 6d. Further hardening not expected. Potatoes: Regulated supply meeting active clearance, has caused upward movement, whites strengthening to 90s, blues 100 s. Advance should be sustained, unless Australian imports prove more saleable. Maize : Shipments small and irregular costing 5s Id. Barley : Malting stands at 5s 3d, feed 3s fid, seed Cape 4s fid. Peas; Partridge dearer 4s fid, split £ls 10s. Bran is in good request at £5 os. Pollard : Output still shoit at £7. Oatmeal: 2o’s remain at £lB, rolled oats £lB, Oatiua 10s fid. Chaff: Abundance of green feed has eased the demand, with bright oatsheaf standing firm at 955. Tendency is upward with usual winter interference iu cutting. Straw chaff 60s. Hay : Rye clover is worth 85s, pressed straw 40s. Messrs Kaye & Carter, Ltd., Christchurch, report as follows : Wheat: Milling wheat, Tuscan 4s 7d to 4s Bd, pearl 4s TJ-gd to 4s B}£d, Hunters 4s 7d to 4s Bd, fowl wheat 4s fid to 4s 7d, f.o.b. Lyttelton, sacks extra. Milling wheat: There is very little doing but prices have advanced a little in sympathy with Home markets. Oats : A Gartons 2s 8d to 2s B>£d, B Gartons 2s 7d to 2s Sparrowbills 2s 7d to 2s 7)4d, Danish 2s 7d to 2s 7%d, Duns 2s 7d to 2s 9d, f.o.b. Lyttelton, sacks included. Prices have firmed a little owing to the higher rates reported from further South. Potatoes: £4 10s to £4 15s. In good demand. FEILDING WOOL, SKIN & HIDE SALE. Messrs A. H. Atkinson &• Co., Ltd., report:—On Thursday we offered an average catalogue to a good attendance of buyers. Wool and skins at about last month’s value were well competed for, bidding for hides was spirited and they were about }£d better than last month, heavy well-conditioned ox making up to Quotations: — Wool: Indifferent fleece cotted 3%d, fleece and dead wool black 3J£d, dead medium good 4%d, locks and pieces l%d, 2d, 3d, lambs good 5%d, seedy Id. Skins: Crossbred 3>£d to 4>£d, inferior to shorts 3%d, black dead 2d to 2>£d, pelts 2%d to slightly broken lambs 4d, inferior half dry skins at each, shorts Is, Is lOd, 3s Id, pelts Bd, butchers shorts Is 7d, Is lOd, Is “lid, 2s 2d, 2s 3d, 2s 4d, lambs shorts Is 3d to Is fid, full wool 2s 7d, pelts Is Id. Hides :Ox heavy medium 5%d, light cow light 3%d, to B%d, heavy 4%d, rough 3%d, slippy 2}4d, bull sound 2%d, slippy Id, cut calf slightly cut slippy IKd, yearlings slippy 2%d, sound cut 2K- Tallow: Casks 335, tins 19s fid per cwt.
