STOCK REPORT. The New Zealand. Loan & Mercantile report;—At Palmerston on Thursday we iiad a medium entry of sheep 'and cattle. A good demand existed for good-conditioned sheep and fat cattle also sold well. We quote :—Forward wethers 15s Id, fat and forward ewes 12s Id to 12s sd, lambs small 3s 9d. Cattle ; 15-month heifers 24s to 295, forward heifers £3 ss, store cows 25s to oos, forward cows £3 ss, mixed 15-month cattle 345, fat cows £4-6s to £5 2s, bulls £2 15s to £3 10s.

Messrs Abraham & Williams report as follows : —At Palmerston on Thursday a good yarding of both sheep and cattle came forward. There was a good demand tor all classes of cattle, anci ; prices were decidedly better, very little going cut unsold. A fair proportion of the sheep yarded were also disposed of, but there is still very little inquiry for ewes in lamb, most lines being passed in. Quotations Fat wethers 15s Bd, medium fat ewes 12s 6d, 2-tooth ewes in lamb 12s, 2-tooth wethers 10s lOd, small 2-tooth wetheis 8s fid to 9s, lambs 5s 9d to 6?"10d, small lambs 3s 5d to 4s, cull lambs 2s 3d, empty “store ewes os 6d, 3 and 4-year bullocks £4 19s to £5 ss, 3year bullocks £4 7s, steers £3 17s fid, 2-year steers £2 16s to £3, forward cows 39s to £2 19s 6d, forward heifers £2 11s 6d, 18-months empty heifers 80s to 325, mixed yearlings in low condition 21s fid, yearling heifers 20s to 27s fid, cows and calves 80s to £2 11s, weauers 10s to 16s fid, small weauers 7s fid, springing heifers £3 Is, fat “cows £4 10s to £4 17s, light £fat cows £3 |j7s, springing cows £4 Jfis, store cows 20s to 32s fid.

Messrs Dalgety & 00. reportAt Palmerston we had a fair entry of sheep Jand a small entry of cattle. The breeding ewes yarded were good sound young sheep, but for these there }was practically no demand. Our principal sales were :—Medium lambs 3s fid to ss, fat ewes 13s 9d, small 2-tooth wethers 10s. A small line of very fair lambs brought from fis to 7s. Dairy cows brought from £2 5s fid to £2 12s fid, mixed weaners 14s.
