LETTERS TO THE EDITOR.

SPORT OR SLAUGHTER? SIR.—It has come to my knowledge tiiat some 'so-called sportsmen, are preparing for the opening of the shooting season by a long continued and well arranged system of feeding the wild, ducks that 'are bred upon and visit their waters, and by this method they hope to Jbe able to sit comfortably ensconced in the centre of their duck ponds and blaze away to their greedy heart’s content, or till such time as food and'decoys fail to attract. Now, Sir, this may be considered quite a legitimate game of “beggar your neighbour” by those who hold the cards, but to me it appears to be “up against” the true sport who is always ready to accept pot luck and is satisfied with a moderate bag . Hence this protest from—Yours, etc., “WILD DUCK.”
