NEW CURE FOR APPENDICITIS. New York, March 1. If a newly-discovered cure for appendicitis turns out to be as certain as it seems, the knife of the surgeon will soon have lost another of its uses-and humanity may keep possession of its appendixes for ever. Dr. Harvey Archibald, of this city, has discovered that appendicitis yields to the action of electricity pretty nearly as mists are dissipated by the sun. When a case of appendicitis comes into Dr. Archibald’s office the physician trains the powerful penetrating ray upon the sore spot. Right away the swelling goes down and the excruciating pain stops short. After five or six days, “after five or six applications,” Dr. Archibald says the cure is always complete. The new cure is so childishly simple that I would never have come upon it except by the merest luck,” the physician said. “It is nothing more or less than the process of bombarding the congestion about the appendix with violet electric rays and a high frequency current. The treatment causes the blood to return to the central circulation system ; the congestion departs for the simple reason that the cause of the congestion has been removed —and that’s the end of the appendicitis. ” DR. SHELDON’S NEW DISCOVERY. For Coughs, Colds, and Consumption is a preparation that can be relied upon to cure all lung troubles. It has proved a blessing in thousands of homes, and has been energetically endorsed by many of the most prominent citizens and professional men in Australia. Dr. Sheldon’s New Discovery is not a patent medicine, or an ordinary cough mixture, but a sicentific discovery that will make sore lungs well. Price Is 6d and 3s. Obtainable at all Stores, Matron, Ellis Bros., Hunterville, and Mansell & Sons, Bulls. If you are troubled with Dyspepsia, which gives its victims no rest day and night, and causes pains in the stomach and bowels, headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, constipation, etc., take a course of Chamberlain’s Tablets. They will stimulate the liver and bowels to perform their work naturally and gently, and strengthen the digestive organs. For sale by T. H. Bred in, Mar ton, and D. Wilson, Rongotea.
