THE BLACKBALL STRIKE.

Per Press Association. Greymouth, April 24. A meeting of the Blackball Miners’ Union was held this morning, when the {President (Mr Fox) handed in his resignation ; hut the resignation was not accepted. It is stated that Mr Fox felt a slight in not having beeh chosen to represent the Union in the conference to he held with the Blackball directors in Christchurch. It is rumoured that a deputation of miners will wait on the manager to-day and submit farther proposals for settlement.

The Hon. Guinness goes to Blackball in the morning, it is alleged, for the purpose of trying to effect a settlement.
