AUCKLAND DEFENCE.

Press Association. Auckland, April 33.

In an interview upon some remarks made at a meeting of the National Defence League, Colonel Wolfe, the officer commanding the Auckland District, said that it was ridiculous to saj a force could easily land or establish itself. Anything of the kind would be in the way of a mere raid while the British held the sea, and before that the Australasian fleet would have to be dealt with. Colonel Inson, commanding the New South Wales force, thought it almost impossible for ah enemy to get into Auckland without observation.
