ESCAPE OF PRISONERS. Press Association—Copyright. St. Petersburg, April 17. Reuter’s St. Petersburg correspondent states that eleven political prisoners at Penza, after killing two warders and wounding a third, escaped to the roof through a hole iu the ceiling of their cell. While lowering themselves by ropes made of bedclothes, a warder shot one. Another flung a powerful bomb and succeeded in reaching open country. The guards hotly pursued them and killed seven fugitives. Three escaped. Received April 18, 9.28 a.m. St.Petersburg, April 17.
The Amur Railway agreed to by the Duma is from Kajinga to Khabarmosk, aud will cost 2i)4 millions sterling, or £16,600 per mile. It must be built entirely of Russian materials and labour.| I
