RANGITIKEI HUNT.

ANNUAL MEETING,

The annual meeting of^ above was held ac the White Hart Hotel yesterday, Mr J., G. 'Wilson presiding. The report was read as follows : Your Committee has the pleasure to submit the annual .report and balance-sheet for the year ending 31st March, 1908. The total receipts are £348 19s and expenditure £3Bl 10s Bd, a loss on the'year of £32 11s Bd. The uebife balance has been increased from £42 to £72, but when a number of overdue subscriptions are collected, this balance will be materially reduced. Aud when the Jockey Club make their usual generous contribution the balance to debit "will be reduced very considerably. The amount from the Jockey _ Club appearing in the balance-sheet is the donation for the previous season. In the balance -sheet for the year' 1908 no contribution from the Jockey Club appears. The large item £6B 3s 6d for meal, etc., for hounds is made up of two years’ supply, both the £3l 6s 2d for 1906-7, and the £3B 17s 4d for 1907-8 having been paid in _ this financial year. The large profit at this year’s hall (£2O 19s 4d) was, in a measure, caused by a number of the ball subs for the previous year not being paid until this season. The deficit in the Point-to-Poiut .account was caused by a loss on the sale of race cards and the nonpayment by a number of members of their fees for emergency riders certificates, but which the Club had to pay to the Racing Conference, and two years’ payments appearing in this year’s accounts. The items for horse feed, hounds feed aud firewood show a substantial increase, while “damage to fences’’ shows a large reduction. The members who so generously advanced the purchase money for the Club’s property duly received their five per cent off principal and their 5 per cent interest as usual, this accounting for £52 3s 3d. The annual ball was, as ever, a great success and resulted in a profit chiefly owing to the ladies providing and, superintending the supper. The hunting season was very successful and the thanks of the members are again due to the farmers for their liberality. The Poiut-to-Point was this year run at “View Halloa,’’ the Master’s place; Mr Aldworth, acting as judge, Mr A. H. Bill as starter, and Mr Wotton as clerk of the course. Mr G. H. Wilson’s Pilot dead heated with Mr J. McGregor’s Eercru in the Heavy-Weights (Mr A. Cameron’s trophy), with the Master’s Concord 3. Mrs D. G. Riddiford’s Whipcord (D. McLean up) won the Light-Weight event (Mr E. J. Wilde’s trophy)), with Mr Bruere’s Hakarau 2, and Mr G. H. Wilson’s Redherry 3. Mr J. H. McLean’s Myrtle (owner up) won the Members’ Race (Mr J. G. Wilson’s trophy )with Mr D. McLean’s Quartermaster 2, and Mr L. McKelvie’s Hailstone 3. The Farmers’ Race (Mr Riddiford’s trophy) was won by Mr A. Carter’s Waikura (owner up) with Mr J.
