The Blue Book on Chinese in the Transvaal, shows that ’after vainly urging that Chinese offenders should bo tried by the same methods as natives, Lord Elgin in November, assented to an Act for the temporary renewal of the indentured labour laws relying upon the Transvaal Government to remove every tiling objectionable in existing practices, as soon as it could.
