At a meeting of the executive of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce yesterday a letter was read from the secretary of the Marton Chamber complaining of the delay in railing to Marton goods arriving by steamer in Wanganui, and soliciting the assistance of the Wanganui Chamber in obtaining more speedy delivery. If the trouble was due to the inadequacy of the facilities in handling goods in Wanagnui, in conncetion with“which representations had been made to the Department, the Marton Chamber would bo glad to co-operate with the Wanganui Chamber, as the present state of affairs was causing inconvenience and loss to tradespepole there. It was decided to forward a copy of the letter to the Minister for Railways, and emphasise the fact that the whole district was suffering from the want of further wharf shed accommodation.
