Per Press Association, Greyraouth, April 14. Tom Davis, carpenter, has been killed by a beam falling on the line at the goods shed. Nelson, April 14.

A son of Thomas Bird, of Hope, named Sydney Thomas Bird, aged six, died on Saturday from acute peritonitis,- it is alleged caused by a kick while playing football at school a few days previously. .at the inquest yesterday a verdict was returned* that death resulted from peritonitis caused by receiving an accidental kick while playing football. No blame was attachable to anyone.
